The Russian Foreign Ministry named the new Brazilian ambassador to the Russian Federation

Sergio Rodriguez dos Santos will take over the post of Brazil's ambassador to Russia. He has already arrived in Moscow and will soon present copies of his credentials. This was stated to Izvestia by Alexander Shchetinin, head of the Latin American Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"Brazil's new ambassador, Sergio Rodriguez dos Santos, has already arrived in Moscow and will present copies of his credentials in the coming days," the diplomat said.

Sergio Rodriguez dos Santos began his career at the Brazilian Foreign Ministry in 1995 as the third Secretary. He then worked at the Brazilian embassies in Tokyo and Tel Aviv, as well as at the Brazilian Permanent Mission to the United Nations.

Earlier, he noted the importance of Russia in the international arena, as well as the need to maintain good relations with Moscow in the context of the transition to a multipolar world order.
