A racing driver from the USA died while trying to set a speed record.
American racing driver Chris Raschke died at a speed of over 450 km/ h while trying to set a speed record. This was announced on August 5 by the Southern California Timekeeping Association.
"60-year—old racer Chris Raschke tried to set a speed record and lost control of the car at about 2.5 miles," reads a post on Facebook (owned by Meta, a company whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).
It is specified that he received medical assistance on the spot, but the rider died from his injuries.
Earlier, on June 15, five people were injured in an accident during a traditional motorcycle race in the Czech city of Jicin. It was clarified that one of the riders lost control and crashed his motorcycle into a crowd of spectators.
