Chery sets record for car exports among Chinese manufacturers

Chery became the first Chinese automaker to export more than 5 million vehicles. This was announced on August 5 in the company's press release.

As of July, Chery's global customer base exceeded 17.18 million people, including more than 5.17 million users abroad.

In July, the company sold 224 thousand cars (+14.7% by July 2024), and exported 119 thousand (+31.9%). From January to July, the Chinese manufacturer shipped 669,360 cars abroad, becoming the largest exporter of cars to China. During this period, the company sold 1 million 485 thousand cars, which is 14.5% more than last year. Sales of cars powered by new energy sources (NEV) increased by 87.7% to 425,000 units during this period.

Individual brands may leave the Russian market before the end of the year.

Earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Trade reported that 134.5 thousand new cars were sold in Russia in July. This is 33% more than the results of the previous month. In July, sales volumes of cars produced in the Russian Federation amounted to 74.8 thousand units, which is 8% more than in July 2024. During the same period, 59.7 thousand imported cars were sold, which is 33% less than in July 2024.
