The fastest Internet providers in Moscow are named
Based on the results of open measurements of Internet connection speeds in Moscow's home networks in the first half of 2025, the TelecomDaily agency published a rating of broadband providers operating in the capital (available to Izvestia).
Providers with a market share of at least 5% in terms of the number of subscribers became participants in the measurements. Analysts compared the data transfer speeds in the networks of these providers in 2025 with the results of 2024 and compiled an up-to-date rating.
In the final rating of broadband providers in Moscow for January-June 2025, MTS took the first place, scoring 20 points. Rostelecom came in second place with 15 points. Next in the ranking are MegaFon (together with NetByNet) — 10, Beeline (Vimpelcom) — 8 and ER-Telecom (together with Akado) — 7 points. Compared to last year's survey, all providers have retained their positions.
During the study, four parameters were measured: the average and maximum speed for downloading data to the subscriber (Download) and the average and maximum speed for uploading data to the network from the subscriber (Upload). For each parameter, the operator was awarded points from one to five according to the principle "the higher the speed, the more points". Based on the total points, the providers' positions in the rating were determined.
In the study, analysts also noted a 62% increase in the maximum download speed across all networks to 700 Mbps. Among the operators, MTS demonstrated the best results in all parameters: an average download speed of 186.6 Mbit/s, uploads of 174.6 Mbit/s, as well as a maximum download speed of 988 Mbit/s and uploads of 633.5 Mbit/s.
