A court in Sevastopol sentenced a mother and daughter to 12 years in prison for treason. This was announced on August 5 by the press service of the city prosecutor's office.
"The Sevastopol City Court has handed down a verdict in a criminal case against 42-year-old Victoria Strilets and her 24—year-old daughter Alexandra Strilets," the department's Telegram channel said.
It is specified that the defendants collaborated with representatives of Ukraine against the security of Russia. In September 2023, Alexandra Strilets handed over photographs of Russian army installations taken by her mother to Ukrainian intelligence.
The ministry added that the court sentenced the mother and daughter to 12 years in prison to serve their sentences in a general regime penal colony.
On July 31, the Supreme Court of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) sentenced Alexander Syrov, an 18-year-old resident of Mariupol, to seven years in prison for espionage and high treason. It was noted that as a citizen of Ukraine, he collected and transmitted information about the deployment of Rosgvardiya units in the Mariupol area.
