Four people died when a mudflow descended on a village in India
At least four people have died and 50 are missing after a mudflow swept through the village of Dharali in the northern state of Uttarakhand in India. This was reported by The Times of India on August 5.
"District Judge Uttarkashi Prashant Arya confirmed the deaths of four people as a result of the flash flood that struck the village of Dharali," the material says.
Units of the army, as well as the National and State Disaster Response Forces (NDRF, SDRF) have already been sent to the affected areas to conduct search and rescue operations.
According to Arya, there are small guest houses, hotels and restaurants on the territory. Work is currently underway to assess the extent of the damage.
NDTV channel noted that a powerful stream of water is washing away many houses. Uttarkashi police urged locals to keep a safe distance from the river.
Earlier in the day, Gbcode reported the deaths of three people as a result of heavy rains in Taiwan. It was clarified that about 50 more people were injured. It was also noted that the authorities evacuated over 800 people. Eight villages have suspended work and training sessions for the next until August 10.
