Prior to that, the "yellow" level was announced in the capital until the evening of August 4, and in the region — until the morning of August 5.
During bad weather, residents of Moscow and the Moscow region are asked to be careful: do not leave children unattended, avoid shaky structures, billboards and power lines, do not hide from the rain under trees and do not park cars next to them, the website reports. kp.ru .
Earlier on August 5, Meteonosti specialist Tatiana Pozdnyakova told RT that heavy rains in the capital would stop on Tuesday afternoon. The atmospheric front that caused heavy precipitation is already shifting towards the Volga region, including the Nizhny Novgorod region and Tatarstan, writes Moscow 24. From Thursday, the Atlantic cyclone will determine the weather. It will bring light rains at night, and light to moderate rains during the daytime.
On the same day, it was reported that 130% of the monthly precipitation rate had fallen in Moscow over the past day. Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center, said that 34 mm of precipitation fell in the capital over the past day at the VDNKh reference weather station, 30 mm in Baltschug, and 35 mm in Butovo, which is 45% of the monthly norm.
On August 4, Tishkovets reported a maximum of heavy rains in Moscow. He recalled that the current record of 37.8 mm was recorded by forecasters in 1989, notes 360.ru .
At the end of July, Alexander Shuvalov, head of the Meteo forecasting center, in an interview with the National News Service, named the cause of the July rains. According to him, the intensity and frequency of rainfall in the summer increases in temperate latitudes due to rising global temperatures.
