A criminal case has been opened in Buryatia over an accident that killed a 16-year-old boy and injured three other teenagers. This is reported by the republican SU of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

The accident occurred on the night of Tuesday, August 5, in the village of Sukhaya in Kabansky district. According to the investigation, on Monday evening, a 17-year-old local resident, taking advantage of the absence of her parents, took their Honda Shuttle car without asking to drive around the village with four friends.

On the street, a Baikal girl exceeded the speed limit and lost control. The car flew off the roadway, overturned and crashed into an electrical support.

A 16-year-old boy died in a medical facility, two more girls, aged 16 and 17, were injured and were hospitalized. According to the Investigative Committee, one of them is in serious condition, doctors continue to fight for her life, writes IA UlanMedia.

The culprit of the accident received soft tissue bruises, she did not require medical attention. A criminal case has been opened against her under paragraph "b" of Part 4 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Violation of traffic rules by a person who does not have the right to drive vehicles, which negligently caused the death of a person."
