Nutritionist Anton Polyakov warned that the daily consumption of melons in excessive quantities can lead to gastrointestinal problems.

In conversation with aif.ru On Tuesday, August 5, he noted that melon is a product that is quite difficult to digest. According to him, it can cause gastrointestinal disorders in some people. Despite this, it is considered a tasty and healthy product, rich in vitamins and quite satisfying. The specialist added that there are varieties of melon used for the production of dietary supplements with antioxidant properties.

He stressed that melon does not go well with other foods — digestive problems may occur if consumed at the same time. Melon can also put a strain on the digestive tract, especially in people with gastritis, and in some cases provoke allergic reactions.

On August 4, dietitian, PhD Elena Solomatina, in an interview with Moskva 24, told what products it is dangerous to combine melon with. According to her, melon should not be combined with meat, dairy and fermented milk products, as this is fraught with gas formation and stomach problems. It is especially bad to combine it with meat, especially meat that takes a long time to digest: pork, lamb, beef, horse meat. Solomatina noted that melon contains sugar, so its consumption should be moderate — about 200 grams per day is enough. 360.ru .
