Sobyanin noted a new method of treatment of pulmonary embolism
Specialized pulmonary embolism treatment teams are working in all the capital's shock centers, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said. The teams consist of cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, X-ray surgeons, and intensive care specialists.
According to the mayor, doctors use modern endovascular systems: the drug is delivered directly into the blood clot, and ultrasound promotes its faster and more effective destruction. This method allows you to reduce the dose of thrombolytics and reduce the risk of complications.
"Teams additionally trained in the new method already exist in all the capital's shock centers," Sobyanin wrote on his Telegram channel. He noted that the largest number of procedures were performed by specialists of the State Clinical Hospital named after him. Davydovsky and the Scientific Research Institute of Joint Venture named after Sklifosovsky. In total, more than 20 procedures have been performed in Moscow hospitals since the introduction of the technology.
"Later, this experience may be useful for other regions of our country," Sobyanin stressed.
Pulmonary embolism is a condition in which the vessels of the lungs become clogged with blood clots. It is very dangerous, so it is important to make a diagnosis and start treatment as early as possible.
