A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The Vostok group of troops liberated the settlement of January in the Dnipropetrovsk region. As a result of the actions of the servicemen, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost more than 205 militants, an armored combat vehicle, two vehicles and an artillery piece.

"The units of the Zapad group of forces have improved their position along the front line. The formations of two mechanized assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard brigade were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Glushkovka, Alexandrovka, Kupyansk of the Kharkiv region, Krymki, Yarovaya and Kolodezi of the Donetsk People's Republic. The enemy's losses amounted to 220 military personnel, an armored combat vehicle, nine pickups and a field artillery piece," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, defeated the transport infrastructure used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the places of storage of drones and training for the use of unmanned boats, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian formations and foreign mercenaries in 140 areas. Air defense systems, in turn, shot down 146 aircraft-type drones.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 664 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 74,726 UAVs, 625 anti-aircraft missile systems, 24,448 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,584 multiple rocket launchers, 28,180 field artillery and mortars, and 39,150 special vehicles.
