- The Economist spoke about the Ukrainian Armed Forces going underground due to Russian UAVs
The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are forced to withdraw to underground bunkers amid the actions of Russian drones. This was reported on August 4 by The Economist magazine with reference to the commander of the 128th separate mountain assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the call sign Kartel.
According to the militant, the brigade's units have been moving into bunkers since January due to the active work of Russian artillery, as well as the expansion of the area of operation of Russian drones.
"Now, due to the abundance of drones, the affected area has expanded, so we are going underground," the article says.
On July 30, The Wall Street Journal newspaper noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are striving to strengthen their borders as quickly as possible in order to slow down the Russian military's offensive and drone attacks, but are experiencing difficulties in achieving results due to lack of resources.
On August 1, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation were advancing along the entire line of contact. He also clarified that the positive dynamics of the Russian army at the front is due to the heroism of the Russian fighters.
