Ukraine recorded a record balance of payments deficit, which amounted to $5.1 billion. This was reported on August 4 by Forbes Ukraine magazine.

"The situation with Ukraine's balance of payments, which records the difference between exports and imports, continues to deteriorate. In June, a historical anti—record was recorded - minus $ 5.1 billion," the article says.

According to the newspaper, this is the first time in the history of Ukraine when such a large deficit was recorded. However, according to the magazine, this was expected, since the increase in trade anti-records had been repeatedly recorded before.

The head of the Other Ukraine movement, Viktor Medvedchuk, announced on July 26 that Ukraine had defaulted, as the country's public debt under President Vladimir Zelensky had grown to $181 billion. Despite the recorded default, it was not declared in the country. Medvedchuk explained that the recognition of default would entail the immediate end of hostilities in the conflict with the Russian Federation.
