130% of the monthly precipitation rate has fallen in Moscow over the past day. This was announced on August 5 by Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist at the Phobos Weather Center.

"130% of the monthly precipitation rate fell in the metropolitan region in a day," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

It is specified that 34 mm of precipitation fell in Moscow over the past day at the VDNKh reference weather station, 30 mm in Baltschuga, and 35 mm in Butovo, which is 45% of the monthly norm.

Tishkovets noted that a similar situation was observed in the Moscow region: 41 mm each fell in Krasnogorsk and Dolgoprudny. At the same time, the heaviest rains were recorded in Naro-Fominsk, where 84 mm fell, and this is 130% of the total precipitation for August, the forecaster emphasized.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that short-term rain and thunderstorms are expected in the Moscow region on August 5. The air temperature in the capital will range from +23 to +25 degrees during the day.
