The lawyer spoke about new ways of fraud in Russian companies
New, more sophisticated types of fraud are observed among employees of Russian companies: These can be corporate tests and invitations to patriotic events. About this on August 4, "Gazeta.Ru," said Vlada Kovaleva, a lawyer at Alimirzoev and Trofimov.
According to the lawyer, employees receive an email message allegedly from the HR department with an offer to participate, most often, in a patriotic event, and they need to take a test to register for it.
"During the transition, he is asked to enter the details of his corporate account, including login and password, as well as upload a document allegedly confirming his participation in the testing. In some cases, he is also asked to enter his passport data and INN under the pretext of verifying the data with the personnel department," Kovaleva explained.
According to the expert, this procedure allows a fraudster to gain access to the company's mail, internal resources and documents, which increases the risk of data leakage. This leads to material and reputational damage.
In connection with the new methods of fraud, the lawyer recommended the introduction of regular face-to-face and distance cybersecurity trainings with a mandatory practical part.
"At the same time, it is necessary to restrict access to corporate systems, as well as to filter incoming mail with automatic blocking of suspicious attachments and links," the specialist advised.
Earlier, on July 31, lawyer Ilya Rusyaev spoke about fraudulent schemes for students looking for work. According to the expert, the most common offers are to enroll in "exclusive" programs with prepayment for guaranteed employment. In addition, duplicate websites of the portal "Work in Russia" are being created, where fraudsters collect personal data and bank card details under the guise of an official resource.
