During the combat mission, Ensign Alexander Zankin, head of the control platoon, provided the commander with communications with the units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation occupying advanced defensive positions. The Russian Defense Ministry reported on the exploits of military personnel in the special military operation zone on Tuesday, August 5.

The reason for the communication problems was damage to the repeaters and their power supplies as a result of a drone strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Zankin, who was at the forward control point at that time, immediately moved to the site of the breakdown and found the disabled equipment as soon as possible, the department stressed.

The ensign carried out repair work even with the threat of new drone attacks. He promptly repaired the damage by moving the equipment before that. After that, the sources providing the repeaters with uninterrupted power supply were connected.

As a result, the commander's communication with the units was restored. Thanks to Zankin's actions, the Russian Armed Forces retained the ability to operationally control military personnel on the line of combat contact. The stability of the Russian Army's defense in the tactical area of its military was also ensured.

In addition, Guard Corporal Eduard Zaripov, as part of the crew of a heavy flamethrower system (TOC) combat vehicle, performed the tasks of striking the enemy. In total, the calculation was able to inflict fire damage on the Ukrainian Armed Forces more than 13 times. The shooting was carried out using flame-throwing and incendiary devices.

Earlier, on August 4, Corporal Mikhail Kharlamov, as part of an engineering sapper group, carried out a combat mission to mine sites of a possible breakthrough of the AFU equipment in the area of one of the settlements. During the performance of engineering and reconnaissance tasks, he identified the main areas that pose a threat to Russian units and began installing anti-tank mines on roads and entrances to the settlement, despite the constant threat of an attack by FPV drones.

Prior to that, on August 3, Guard Junior Sergeant Andrei Voskresensky, as commander of the Grad combat vehicle, had repeatedly performed reconnaissance missions to detect enemy artillery positions and identify areas where his manpower and equipment were concentrated.
