Doctors of the Konchalovsky State Clinical Hospital Perinatal Center rescued and treated triplets born at the 30th week of pregnancy with critically low body weight. This was announced by Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development, on Monday, August 4.

According to her, thanks to modern medicine and the professionalism of specialists, more than 99% of premature babies are cared for in the capital's perinatal centers. The case of the triplets became an example of a well-coordinated team work, writes Life.ru .

The pregnancy developed normally, but at the 29th week, the expectant mother was diagnosed with isthmic cervical insufficiency, a threat of premature birth. The woman was urgently hospitalized, the website clarifies kp.ru .

On the 30th week and 6th day of pregnancy, contractions began, and an emergency caesarean section was performed. All three girls were born weighing between 1.3 and 1.7 kg and needed intensive care, Moscow 24 writes.

Alexander Filippov, head of the department, noted that a separate team of doctors worked for each baby — the newborns were warmed up, connected to a ventilator and monitoring. The fight for their lives was waged for about 20 days, writes RT.

After stabilization, the girls were transferred to the neonatal pathology department, where they learned to breathe and eat on their own. Now the mother and children are feeling well and have already been discharged home, the Moscow City News agency reports.

Anastasia Rakova noted that there are six modern perinatal centers in Moscow that help premature babies. In 2025, 463 twins and 4 triplets were born in the capital, and doctors ensured the safety of mothers and babies at all stages, RIAMO notes.
