Russian athletes finished the World Aquatics Championships in fourth place in the medal standings. The competition was held in Singapore from July 11 to August 3.

Russia's representatives have won 18 awards — six gold, eight silver and four bronze medals. The largest number of prizes were won in synchronized swimming, where athletes received three gold, three silver and two bronze medals. In swimming, the Russians became the first three times, the second four times and the third once. Silver and bronze medals were awarded in diving.

The overall standings were led by the Chinese team, which collected 15 gold, 12 silver and 10 bronze awards. The second place was taken by representatives of Australia (13-7-8), the third place was taken by athletes from the USA (10-11-11).

Initially, the tournament was planned to be held in Kazan, but in February 2023, the International Aquatics Federation (World Aquatics) moved the competition to Singapore. Russian athletes participated in the championship in a neutral status.

On August 4, Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated swimmer Kliment Kolesnikov on his victory in the 50 m backstroke at the World Aquatics Championships. The Head of State stated that the athlete had demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities and the highest class of skill.
