The teacher of the school gave advice to first-year students on university behavior
The most common mistake of first—year students is the expectation that they will find themselves in the same environment at the institute in which they spent many years at school, although in fact they expect more freedom and independence at the university, but with them responsibility. On August 5, Lidiya Kalashnikova, a teacher of history and social studies at the Suzdal Orthodox Gymnasium, a private educational institution, told Izvestia.
"You shouldn't expect teachers to babysit like at school and remind you many times that you need to take an exam, report, or essay. A first-year student should remember that it is not worth postponing the completion of various tasks required by the course of study. To avoid a huge amount of academic debt, everything should be done in a timely manner," Kalashnikova explained.
The teacher pointed out that the effective allocation of time between study and personal life will help the successful completion of the session. In order to do this correctly, you need to take into account the features of your chronotype.
"For some, activity in the morning is more effective, while for others, the afternoon will be optimal. It is important to record the tasks that need to be completed. To do this, you will need to keep a diary or make notes in a special application on your gadget. This will make it possible not to miss important events and solve problems on time," the teacher believes.
She also believes that it is very important not to overload your day, but to focus on personal opportunities and delegate the workload during the activity of your day, while leaving time for rest.
"Remember that the best vacation is a change of activities. Studying is accompanied by mental activity, so rest should be physical: playing sports, cycling, and the like," the specialist noted.
Marketing Director of Ventra Go! On August 1, Anna Larionova told Izvestia how students should be more conscious about spending money. According to her, modern young people aged 18-25 have begun to allocate finances more consciously, but they still face irrational budget allocation. The expert advised to keep records of expenses through applications or tables and create a financial cushion to protect against unforeseen expenses. As for part-time jobs, choose official or transparent employment formats.
