More than fifty reconstructed schools will open in Moscow by September 1.
51 fully renovated schools will be opened in Moscow by the beginning of the upcoming academic year. This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, in his Telegram channel.
According to the mayor, the My School program involves "a systematic update of the entire educational environment in Moscow." In particular, the task has been set "to reconstruct hundreds of schools in Moscow every year," he said.
Sobyanin said that he had visited the building of school No. 534 in Zyablikov, where a "modern environment for children and teachers has now been created — with new classrooms, a media library, sports and gyms." The school will continue to implement the projects "Mathematical Vertical" and "Cadet class", and from this academic year, "IT vertical", "Natural Science vertical" and "IT class" are also planned.
Four more school buildings are also undergoing renovation in Zyablikov, the mayor added.
In July, Sergei Sobyanin announced that more than 30 new schools and kindergartens would open in Moscow by the beginning of the upcoming school year. According to him, the construction of most of the buildings has already been completed. In particular, a new school in Yuzhny Medvedkov is ready, designed for 1.1 thousand students from grades 1 to 11. The new academic building will be part of the school complex No. 967.
An important element of the building was the event hall, equipped with wall and ceiling acoustic panels. In addition, in addition to universal and specialized classrooms, the school provides "laboratory and research complexes, a media library, gyms and much more," Sobyanin said.
