A tiger cub and a lion were seized from a private house in Dagestan.

The fact of illegal keeping of wild animals was established in one of the private households in the city of Kizlyar. This was announced on August 5 by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Republic of Dagestan.

In the course of joint actions, employees of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the region and the criminal investigation department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kizlyar discovered two predators — a three-month-old tiger cub and a 10-month-old lion. The animals were kept in conditions that did not meet the established requirements.

The tiger cub was transferred for temporary maintenance to a specialized nursery based on the Glavryba ecotourist complex. The lion was also seized, and its further transfer is being considered.

The necessary procedural measures are currently being carried out. Based on the results of the audit, measures will be taken within the framework of the current legislation.

On July 13, the Moscow Prosecutor's Office announced the seizure of a lion and a lion cub, which were used as "props" for photo shoots and were kept in unsuitable conditions. Later, the animals were transferred to the metropolitan zoo.
