The Ministry of Industry and Trade told about sales of new cars in July

In July, 134.5 thousand new cars were sold in Russia, which is 33% more than the results of the previous month. This is reported in the press release of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

In July, sales of cars produced in the Russian Federation amounted to 74.8 thousand units, which is 8% more than in July 2024. During the same period, 59.7 thousand imported cars were sold, 33% less than in July 2024.

In the first seven months of this year, 742,069 new cars aged up to three years were sold in the Russian Federation). This is 26% less than in the same period of 2024, when more than a million cars were sold.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade estimated the market for new cars of domestic production at 408 thousand units, which is 8% less than in January-July 2024.

The market volume in the passenger car segment was 646,702 units (-24%), in the light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment — 58,006 units (-19%), in the truck segment — 31,430 units (-55%), in the bus segment — 5,931 units (-52%).

The market for new electric vehicles showed a result of 6,106 vehicles (-51%), but the share of such vehicles manufactured in Russia increased from 18% to 27%.

DIY: there are more Russian-built cars

Its circulation was 2,109 units, and the market share was 35.9%. At the same time, in the Chechen Republic, the Toyota Camry turned out to be the bestseller of the market with a result of 616 cars sold and a share of 20.7%.

In most regions of Russia, Lada Granta is the leader of the car market this year, but there are exceptions besides Chechnya and Dagestan. According to the analyst, the best-selling new car in the Kaliningrad region was the Kaiyi X3 Pro (183 units; 5.7%). On Sakhalin, there is UAZ Patriot (27 units; 6.5%). At the same time, in the Novosibirsk and Irkutsk regions, Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max was most often bought new at car dealerships (547 units and 210 units, respectively). In Moscow, the Geely Monjaro crossover is the leader (2,736 units; 4.1%).
