The vocalist of the American rock band Junkyard, David Roach, died after a long illness. This was announced on August 4 by the band members on the official Instagram page (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and is banned).

"We are saddened to announce the passing of David Roach. After a courageous battle with cancer, he passed away peacefully last night at home, in the arms of his wife," the statement said.

The musician was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the skin in March 2025. His wife Jennifer left her job to take care of him. The couple married on July 19, two weeks before Roach's death.

According to relatives, the performer needed constant help. To cover medical expenses, a campaign was organized on the GoFundMe platform, which raised more than $36 thousand.

David Roach has been Junkyard's permanent frontman since the band's founding in Los Angeles in 1987. The band ceased operations in 1992, but reunited for a tour in 2000. In 2017, Junkyard released the album *High Water*— the first in 25 years.
