The "Vietnam Culture Festival", which took place from July 25 to August 3, has ended in the capital. This was announced by Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina, noting that in total, more than a hundred events were held for citizens and tourists, including culinary and creative classes, performances by artists, performances and exhibitions.
"The festival on Manezhnaya Square was attended by 968 thousand people. Dance and music shows, puppet theater productions and workshops on modeling toys from rice dough were the most popular," the deputy mayor noted.
Participants were also invited to taste traditional Vietnamese cuisine. Among the best-selling were pho bo soup, ban bao steamed pies and Vietnamese coffee. Among the other purchases of the festival visitors, non's cone hats with decor and drawings in the Dong Ho technique were in the lead.
During the event, one could also hear the sound of traditional musical instruments made of bamboo and reeds, watch performances in the martial arts of this country, and evaluate the collection of national Vietnamese costumes.
As the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Russia, Dang Minh Khoi, noted, "the festival was another important step in strengthening cultural ties between Vietnam and Russia." "We are glad that we were able to share a piece of our soul with the residents and guests of the capital, and we hope that this dialogue of cultures will continue in the future," the diplomat added.
The festival was dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Vietnam. The event became a part of the large-scale "Summer in Moscow" project.
Earlier in July, a festival of Indian culture was held on Manezhnaya Square, one of the traditional locations of the Moscow Seasons series of street events. It was visited by 825,000 citizens and tourists. In the summer of 2024, the Days of Culture of the United Arab Emirates were held, which gathered over 300 thousand guests.
