In Russia, the number of CTP policies issued has increased over the past six months
The Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RSA) noted an increase in the number of annual CTP contracts compared to 2024, including in the so-called "red zone" regions. This is reported in the press release of the union, received by Izvestia on August 4.
According to RSA President Evgeny Ufimtsev, in the first six months of 2025, the subjects of the North Caucasus Federal District entered the top five regions in terms of the increase in the number of CTP contracts. They have traditionally had problems related to the mandatory "car insurance," insurers say.
Thus, the Republic of Dagestan showed an increase in the number of policies by 36.2% (207,537 units), the Chechen Republic — by 35.6% (62,159 units), the Republic of North Ossetia—Alania — by 31.1% (52,596 units), the Republic of Ingushetia — by 19.7% (13,066 units), the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic — by 13% (75,118). In general, policies were growing in all regions of the country.
The increase in the number of contracts indicates a positive trend and possible improvements in the situation with problems of fraudulent practices or compliance with traffic regulations in these regions of the Russian Federation, said Evgeny Ufimtsev.
On July 31, Mains Lab experts said that Chinese cars began to be included more often in the calculation of the cost of CTP repairs, their share increased by one and a half times in the first half of 2025 — from 5 to 7.5%.
At the same time, the percentage of CTP repair calculations for European car owners decreased by 3.6 percentage points (percentage points) year—on-year and amounted to 27.4%, Korean - by 3.1 percentage points to 18.9%. Japanese and Russian cars showed an increase to 26.3% (+2.3 percentage points) and 12.9% (+2.9 percentage points).
