A barge for launching fireworks from the water surface caught fire in Yokohama, Japan. This was reported on August 4 by the NHK TV channel.

"A fire broke out on a barge for launching fireworks in the Minato Mirai area of the Naka District of Yokohama City at about 20:00 (14:00 Moscow time) on the 4th and is still ongoing," the report said.

It is noted that the fireworks on the barge exploded several times. The barge was located at the venue of the Minato Mirai Smart Festival 2025 fireworks show.

According to police, the organizers explained that "the fireworks got out of control."

On August 1, a man was killed in Egypt and six others were injured in a pyrotechnic explosion at a concert. It is noted that this happened due to the explosion of an air pipe connected to the fireworks system.
