The prosecutor asked to find Vyacheslav Akhmedov, the former director of Patriot Park, guilty of especially large-scale fraud and forgery, and to sentence him to six years in a general regime penal colony. This was reported on August 4 by a correspondent of Izvestia from Odintsovo City Court.

In addition, the state prosecution demands to recover 500 thousand rubles from the defendant, ban him from holding public office for three years and deprive him of state awards. The defense asks you to limit yourself to a fine or a suspended sentence.

Akhmedov partially reimbursed the damage to the state in the amount of 500 thousand rubles, 300 thousand of which went to the Ministry of Defense.

According to the indictment, from May 2022 to April 2024, Akhmedov, at the request of former deputy head of the Russian Defense Ministry Pavel Popov, performed economic functions in the park. It is noted that he fraudulently attracted contractors to build two-storey and guest houses, baths, finishing buildings and installing green spaces on the site in the son of Popov farming co-op.

According to the forged documents, the plot of the son of the ex-Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation was registered as part of the park. It is specified that Popov inspected the buildings of the guest houses in the park, became interested in the construction of such buildings on his son's site, and subsequently he had an intention to steal funds from the Ministry of Defense and the Patriot Park.

On July 24, Akhmedov pleaded guilty and testified in a criminal case on large-scale fraud and official forgery. The defendant clarified that he had voluntarily entered into a pre-trial agreement. He also repented of what he had done.

On July 17, the court sentenced another person involved in the case, the former deputy head of the Main Directorate for Innovative Development of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Major General Vladimir Shesterov, to six years in a penal colony. He was also fined 500 thousand rubles.
