The European Union (EU) is in a state of stagnation, its disintegration is inevitable. This was announced on August 4 by Deputy Speaker of the Slovak Parliament Andrei Danko on his YouTube channel.

"The EU is in a state of stagnation. Its disintegration is a matter of time. Because it can't go on like this. There are no rules in the European Union. The representatives of the European Commission are weak leaders, and this was evident at the meeting with [US President Donald] Trump," Danko said.

He added that representatives of the European Commission (EC) cannot compete with Trump, whom Danko called a "strong leader."

According to the Deputy Speaker of the Slovak Parliament, the example of Ukraine shows how the conflict is being used to enrich Western states. Danko attributes this to the polarization of the world.

"Let no one tell me that if gas enters Europe through a pipe, then some other gas may be more acceptable. Due to the tension there [in Ukraine], we are forced to buy gas from the West. And often this is Russian gas, which is simply passed off as liquefied Western gas," said Danko.

The European Union and the United States agreed on a trade deal on July 27. The agreement will allow the bloc to avoid the 30 percent tariffs that could be imposed by Washington. As a result of the deal, the EU remains with 15 percent tariffs on most of its exports, including cars. In turn, Bloomberg columnist Simon Nixon said that the trade agreement between the United States and the EU is an extremely unfavorable deal for Brussels.

The Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia reported on August 4 that the European Union is at risk of becoming an "energy colony" of the United States after the trade agreement. According to the newspaper, in order to fulfill its obligations, Europe must spend $750 billion over three years to purchase oil, liquefied natural gas and coal from the American side. It is noted that this is almost 70% of the imported energy from the country.
