A woman drowned in a city lake in Yessentuki (Stavropol Territory). This is reported by the StavropolMedia news agency with reference to the fire and rescue service of the region.

The victim decided to swim in a place where swimming is prohibited. There is no organized lifeguard duty on the shore. An acquaintance tried to save a 44-year-old woman, but she could not be pulled ashore.

The police are conducting an investigation into the tragedy.

At the end of July, two teenagers drowned in the Don River in the Rostov region. They tried to swim across the river, swam over the buoys and ended up underwater as a result of the strong current.
