Saldo spoke about the evacuation of residents from the Quarantine Island neighborhood of Kherson

Columns of refugees began to leave the residential district on Quarantine Island in Kherson controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on August 4 by the governor of the region, Vladimir Saldo.

"Since the morning, civilian columns have been marching from the Ostrov microdistrict across the railway bridge," he wrote on the Telegram channel.

Saldo added that civilians are being given the opportunity to leave the territory that the Kiev regime has turned into a fortified area.

To do this, the drones had to break through the electronic jamming zones.

The evacuation of residents of the Korabel microdistrict in Kherson became known on August 3. The head of the military administration of Kiev-controlled Kherson, Alexander Prokudin, said that the evacuation was announced due to problems with gas supply.

Later, Saldo said that the evacuation was due to the fact that the Quarantine Island had been turned into a military base of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to him, UAV operators are operating on the roofs of residential buildings, from where roaming mortars are fired "from school yards", and ammunition and military equipment are stored at enterprises.
