Talgat Musabayev, a Russian and Kazakh cosmonaut and public figure, died at the age of 75. This was announced on August 4 in a telegram on the website of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

"Talgat Amangeldievich is a hero who conquered outer space three times and went into outer space, glorifying our country with his exploits," the message says.

Talgat Musabayev was born on January 7, 1951 in the village of Kargaly, Alma Ata region. In 1974, he graduated from the Riga Institute of Civil Aviation Engineers with a degree in Radio Electronic Equipment. The pilot began his career in 1974 as a replacement engineer of aviation and radio electronic equipment of the Burundai United Aviation Detachment (JSC) of Civil Aviation Air Services. The cosmonaut made his first flight in 1994 as a flight engineer of the Soyuz TM-19 spacecraft. During his life, he traveled to space three times for a total duration of 341 days and more than 9 hours.

In addition, in 1994, Musabayev was awarded the title Hero of Russia for his active participation in the preparation and successful implementation of a long-term international space flight at the Mir orbital research complex. The pilot is also listed in the Guinness Book of Records for staying in outer space for a day in one flight.
