A network of charging stations for electric vehicles will be expanded in Russia. This was announced on August 4 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

According to him, thanks to the support measures already taken, there are more than 2 thousand stations for fast charging of electric vehicles in the country.

"Now, as part of a core national project, we will allocate an additional 5.5 billion rubles so that about 2 thousand more new stations and hubs for electric vehicles will be deployed in the next three years. The relevant order has already been signed," Mishustin said during an operational meeting with the deputy prime ministers.

He also stressed the importance of more active expansion of the geography of such infrastructure, so that the owners of the relevant cars could easily and conveniently charge them and move around. Mishustin called this a key factor stimulating demand for electric vehicles.

On June 25, it was reported that the average price of used electric vehicles popular with Russians in early summer decreased by 16.1% compared to January and amounted to 5.25 million rubles. Volkswagen electric cars fell the most — by 27%, to 3.83 million rubles. Prices for electric cars Evolute and Hongqi have also noticeably dropped — by 14.4% each (up to 2.5 million and 6.6 million rubles, respectively).
