Air defense systems repelled a night attack by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Volgograd region. This was announced on August 4 by Governor Andrei Bocharov, his words are quoted in the Telegram channel of the regional administration.

He noted that the targets of the strike were the objects of the transport and energy infrastructure of the region. It is specified that in the Ilovlinsky district, the wreckage of one of the downed UAVs damaged a high-voltage wire, which led to power outages in the village of Ilovlya and neighboring settlements. In addition, a dry grass fire was recorded in the area.

The governor also pointed out that in Frolovo, after the drone attack, a fire broke out in the technical building of the Archeda station, windows were damaged in two nearby residential buildings, and the passenger infrastructure of the railway station was not damaged.

"To eliminate an unexploded UAV located on the railway tracks, train traffic is temporarily restricted in the area of the Archeda station in the Frolovsky district, sappers are working. There was no damage to the tracks," Bocharov stressed.

Earlier in the day, the acting governor of the Rostov region, Yuri Slyusar, said that the military had repelled a night attack by Ukrainian drones over the region with the help of air defense systems. According to him, the UAVs attacked the Tarasovsky and Sholokhovsky districts of the region. Slyusar clarified that as a result of the incident, no consequences of the attack were recorded, and people were not injured either.
