The Ministry of Defense showed footage of the Russian Armed Forces working to liberate Chasova Yar

Units of the 98th Guards Airborne Svir Red Banner, the Orders of Kutuzov and Alexander Nevsky divisions of the Southern Group of Forces liberated the town of Chasov Yar in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) as a result of offensive operations in the Kramatorsk-Druzhkovsky direction. On August 4, the Ministry of Defense showed footage of the operation.

"We tried to act in a combined way — somewhere on combat vehicles, somewhere on foot. It was considered difficult to capture the barrier line at the first stage of the Seversky Donets– Donbass canal, then the site with a refractory plant, where there are large blast furnaces and many shelters for personnel," Colonel, commander of the 331st Guards Paratrooper Kostroma Order of Kutuzov Regiment, told the Guards.

According to him, for the entire duration of the mission, about 70 people were evacuated from this territory, and after the Russian flag was hung, residents of neighboring settlements went to a meeting with the Russian military with a request to help them evacuate.

The deputy commander of the self-propelled artillery battalion with the call sign Blade, noted that as part of this operation, many units of enemy military equipment were destroyed, including the 155-mm self-propelled howitzer M109A6 Paladin. He added that the morale of the Russian soldiers is "at its best" amid the successes in the special operation area.

Another soldier, an assault platoon commander with the call sign Smoke, summed up that all the outskirts of Chasova Yar had been completely cleared by the Russian military, who are working based on their extensive experience.

The ministry stressed that at present, the paratroopers continue to carry out their combat tasks, using new tactics of warfare and modern military equipment.

On August 3, the Ministry of Defense announced that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation had destroyed the vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) near the village of January, Dnipropetrovsk region. Fighters of the Vostok group of forces took part in this operation.
