Military personnel of the Aleysky motorized rifle unit of the Center group of forces told the details of the liberation of the settlement of Novoukrainka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). This was announced on August 4 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

The assault required the military to break through the mined areas. In small groups, they were able to overcome these obstacles and establish control over the settlement, using various tricks to move stealthily.

"They disguised themselves as the area very well. They clung to branches and grass. And at night they used a poncho. The main problem was in our stronghold, which was located in front of the settlement. We fought with him for a very long time, <...> the enemy was very well entrenched there, it was difficult to hit with artillery," said the company commander.

After taking control of the settlement, local residents were found in the basement, who, according to them, were being held by the Ukrainian military without access to water and food. It is alleged that the place of their detention was periodically attacked using drones and artillery. It was reported that the prisoners were rescued.

Coordination between different units contributed to the success of the operation. Artillery crews and operators of Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) previously suppressed firing positions and destroyed enemy reinforcements.
