On August 4, the Russian Ministry of Defense spoke about the exploits of servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the area of a special military operation.

The ministry noted the actions of Corporal Mikhail Kharlamov, who, as part of an engineering sapper group, carried out a combat mission to mine sites of a possible breakthrough of equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the area of one of the settlements liberated from Ukrainian militants. During the performance of engineering and reconnaissance tasks, he identified the main areas that pose a threat to Russian units and began installing anti-tank mines on roads and entrances to the settlement, despite the constant threat of attacks by the AFU FPV drones.

While returning to the deployment site, his group was attacked by two Ukrainian drones. Taking up a firing position, Kharlamov destroyed an enemy drone with well-aimed shots from a standard weapon, and later he hit a second drone attacking Russian soldiers, which detonated in the air at close range from the group. As a result of the explosion, one of the group members was wounded by shrapnel. Kharlamov promptly provided first aid to the injured soldier and took him to the evacuation site. Thanks to his courage and professionalism, it was possible to increase the defense capability of the front line and prevent the breakthrough of enemy armored vehicles.

In addition, the Russian Defense Ministry noted the actions of the guard of Private Alexander Murashev, who, as a senior gunner of the grenade launcher department, performs combat missions to destroy fortified positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During the fighting, Russian attack aircraft discovered a well-fortified enemy stronghold, which hampered their further advance. The calculation of the grenade launcher, which included a soldier, was tasked with the fire defeat of an enemy stronghold.

Murashev, using aerial reconnaissance data, accurately calculated the coordinates and entered firing installations. With precise shots from a heavy-duty grenade launcher, he destroyed the enemy in the stronghold. Thanks to the brave and competent actions of Private Murashev's guard, the assault groups were able to confidently move forward and successfully gain a foothold in new positions.
