The United States is ready to stand shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine and strive for long-term peace. This was announced on August 3 by the Deputy press secretary of the State Department, Mignon Houston.

"We want to continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine as it calls for a comprehensive, complete cease—fire," Houston said, posting a statement on her page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

According to her, the current American administration strives for a lasting and sustainable peace in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Britain is urging the United States to speed up arms supplies to Kiev.

The US Permanent Representative to NATO, Matthew Whitaker, said on August 2 that US President Donald Trump is confident that the Ukrainian conflict can only be resolved through negotiations, and it cannot be completed on the battlefield.

Dmitry Polyansky, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations, recalled on July 25 that Russia had long and consistently proposed ending the Ukrainian conflict through diplomacy.
