Rescuers of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations evacuated a group of tourists consisting of 17 people from a flooded tract in the Krasnodar Territory. This was announced on August 3 by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

"In the Goryachy Klyuch area, water cut off an unregistered group of tourists numbering 17 people. One of the members of the tour group broke her leg," the ministry said.

Rescuers took the tourists to a safe place on heavy high-speed vehicles.

Deputy Head of the Crisis Management Center of the Main Directorate (CUKS GU) The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in the Krasnodar Territory Pavel Kolotnecha stressed that currently the water of the Defan River, whose level has risen after heavy rainfall, has entered 34 houses. Another 70 house territories in Defanovka, Moldavanovka and Novomikhailovsky of the Tuapse region were flooded.

According to him, rescuers are providing the population with all necessary assistance. At the moment, two temporary accommodation facilities for 100 people have been put on alert. 48 specialists and six pieces of equipment were sent to the site, in total, over 150 people and 44 pieces of equipment were involved in the elimination of the consequences.

Earlier in the day, a storm warning was issued in Kuban due to heavy rainfall. It was clarified that by the end of the day, as well as in the morning and afternoon of August 4, water is expected to rise on rivers and watercourses in the southwestern part of the Krasnodar Territory and the Black Sea coast from Anapa to Magri. Against the background of flooding in the village of Defanovka in the Kuban, a bus with passengers fell from a bridge into the river. We managed to save all 25 people.

Local resident Natalia, who suffered from the disaster, shared with Izvestia that she would not have been able to get out of the house without the help of rescuers. Currently, she and her children are staying at a private recreation center organized at a school in the village of Novomikhailovsky.
