In India, 11 people died when a car fell into a river.
An SUV with passengers fell into the Sarya River in the state of Uttar Pradesh in northern India, killing 11 people and injuring several others. This was reported on August 3 by NDTV TV channel with reference to the local authorities.
"At least 11 people were killed and several injured after a car crash...> in the Saryu Canal in the Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh," the article says.
It is specified that there were at least 14 people in the vehicle. The sinking car was noticed by passers-by, and they promptly contacted the local police station. After the bodies were recovered by law enforcement officers, it turned out that there were children among the dead.
Indian Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal announced the rescue of four people. The victims received minor injuries and were taken to the district hospital.
Earlier, on June 26, it was reported that 17 people were injured when a bus crashed into a river in the UK. It was clarified that the vehicle was transporting sixth grade students. There were a total of 19 passengers on the bus.
