The threat of a tsunami in the Kamchatka Territory has been lifted. This was announced on August 3 by the main regional directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.

"The threat of a tsunami to the shores of Kamchatka has been removed," the department's Telegram channel says.

According to the report, the approach of the tsunami wave has not been confirmed in the settlements of the region.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that 10 significant earthquakes were recorded in the Kamchatka Territory during the day. It was clarified that in just 24 hours, over 65 seismological events were registered in the region.

Later, an aftershock of magnitude 6.8 was recorded off the coast of Kamchatka. It was noted that the seismic event occurred 277 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky at a depth of 26 km.
