A criminal case is being investigated in St. Petersburg against a minor suspected of setting fire to a police post. This was announced on August 3 by the Main Investigative Department (GSU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation for the city.
"The investigative Department for the Moskovsky district of the main investigative directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the city of St. Petersburg is investigating a criminal case against a minor on the grounds of a crime under paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code ("Terrorist act")," the agency's Telegram channel says.
According to preliminary data, it was established that on the afternoon of August 2, 2025, a teenager, arriving at an inactive police station, threw a bottle with an inflammatory mixture, as a result of which the roof of the post caught fire. The suspect was promptly detained and taken to the investigation department.
The teenager explained to the investigators that unknown people had contacted him via messenger and offered to earn money. Currently, the entire complex of investigative actions is being carried out, as well as the issue of a preventive measure for the suspect is being resolved.
On July 31, it was reported that a criminal case had been opened against an underage college student in Krasnoyarsk for an attempted terrorist attack. The press service of the Siberian transport Police clarified that the teenager tried to set fire to two relay cabinets.
