Military personnel of the search and rescue group on the Mi-8PSG helicopter of the Aerospace Forces (VKS) daily accompany the crews of army aviation on Ka-52, Mi-28, Mi-35 helicopters performing tasks in the area of a special military operation. This was announced on August 3 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

In the event of an emergency, the military personnel of the search and rescue group promptly arrive to provide assistance and, if necessary, transport the crew to the point of permanent deployment. It is specified that the search and rescue group includes a fire support group, as well as a military member of the medical department.
