Since the start of the Gaza war, 88% of investigations in Israel involving allegations of war crimes or abuses by military personnel have been terminated or remained unsolved. This was reported on August 2 by The Guardian newspaper, citing sources.

"Almost nine out of ten investigations conducted by the Israeli military into allegations of war crimes or abuses by its soldiers since the start of the Gaza war have been closed without finding violations or have remained unresolved," the article says.

The statistics provided by the organization Action on Armed Violence (AOAV) indicate Israel's desire for a "system of impunity," the article emphasized.

In August 2024, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported collecting hundreds of testimonies about events in the Gaza Strip. The Military Prosecutor's Office has launched 74 criminal investigations, 52 of which relate to deaths or ill-treatment of detainees. It is noted that the IDF data differs from the information collected by the AOAV organization.

The Times of Israel newspaper reported on July 30 that two people were killed and several others injured as a result of an IDF attack on a humanitarian aid distribution point. It was clarified that the IDF has not yet responded to the accusations.
