The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) took control of a site in Quneitra province in southern Syria and turned one of the captured buildings into its new outpost. This was reported on August 3 by the Shafaq News agency, citing sources.

"Israeli troops seized control of the house <...> turning it into a military outpost. <...> This area is considered strategically important due to its proximity to the 1974 ceasefire zone (after the "Yom Kippur War", which was fought at the end of 1973. — Ed.)," the message says.

It is noted that 40 Israeli soldiers were sent to participate in this operation.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on July 21 that Israel was using the conflict with Syria to occupy the region. On July 25, the country's Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, pointed out Israel's unwillingness to restore stability and security in Syria.
