The statements of European countries about the alleged threat coming from Russia are unrealistic, but the European Union (EU), based on them, makes wrong political decisions. This was announced on August 2 by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

"[European countries] should not base our policy on this," Orban said during his speech, a recording of which was posted on his YouTube channel.

He called on Western states remaining in conflict with Russia to realize that it will never "allow" Western weapons to be supplied to its state borders.

The Prime Minister expressed the opinion that the only way to resolve the conflict in Ukraine could be diplomacy, expressed in a dialogue between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump.

On July 24, Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Szijjarto indicated that the EU, which was once a "strong player," is losing its position. He pointed out that the loss of competitiveness of the alliance is due to mistakes made by the leaders of European states.
