US President Donald Trump is confident that the Ukrainian conflict can be resolved only through negotiations. This was announced on August 2 by the US Permanent Representative to NATO Matthew Whitaker.

"Trump has made it clear that the conflict in Ukraine will not be ended on the battlefield. In the end, it must be completed through negotiations, and peace must be achieved," he said in an interview with NBC.

At the same time, Whitaker stressed that the head of state intends to try to put pressure on Russia with regular supplies of US-made weapons to Ukraine.
