The West has declared the impossibility of new negotiations on a settlement in Ukraine

The possibility of holding a new round of negotiations on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine has most likely been lost. This opinion was expressed on August 2 by British analyst Alexander Mercuris in his YouTube channel.

"I'm afraid that in terms of the Ukrainian conflict, the possibility of negotiations is now irretrievably lost," said Mercouris.

According to him, the Ukrainian authorities should have agreed to Russia's conditions earlier, as they would only be tougher. At the same time, the analyst admitted that the leadership of the Russian Federation and the United States will be able to agree on a cessation of hostilities in Ukraine.

The third round of negotiations on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict ended in Istanbul on the evening of July 23. The meeting of the delegations of the Russian Federation and Ukraine was held in the Chiragan Palace in a closed format and lasted about an hour.

Following the talks, the head of the Russian delegation, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky, expressed hope for a fourth round of negotiations. According to him, the positions of the two states on the memoranda are currently far from each other.
