Audi driver arrested after fatal hit-and-run in Moscow
The court arrested the 47-year-old driver of an Audi A6 car who hit a woman in the southwest of Moscow while intoxicated. This was announced on August 2 by the Moscow prosecutor's office.
"The driver of the Audi A6 was intoxicated at the time of the accident," the agency's Telegram channel noted.
According to the agency, the accident occurred on Vilnius Street. An Audi A6 driver ran over a woman born in 1949 who was crossing the road at a green traffic light. After the collision, the car collided with a parked Nissan car. The victim died on the spot.
According to the results of the examination, the alcohol concentration in the driver's exhaled air exceeded 1.4 mg/l. He admitted his guilt and explained that he had been drinking alcohol in the morning, but he did not remember the moment of the accident.
The man was charged under paragraph "a" of Part 4 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of traffic rules by a person driving a car, resulting in the death of a person committed while intoxicated").
On August 1, the press service of the Moscow Department of the State Traffic Inspectorate reported that a woman died in a collision between two cars in southwest Moscow. The incident occurred on Vilnius Street in the Yasenevo district.
