The conflict in Ukraine is unlikely to end in 2025. This was announced on August 2 by British Foreign Minister David Lammy in an interview with The Guardian newspaper.

"I believe that in a year the negotiations [on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict] will continue," he said.

The British Foreign Minister also said that it is unlikely to be possible to put an end to the active phase of hostilities within a year.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on July 26 that peace talks and a solution to the Ukrainian conflict had never been on the West's real agenda. She noted that Western countries are increasingly aggressively discussing arms supplies to Kiev and militarization.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on July 28 that Russia's condition for resolving the conflict in Ukraine is to reject Kiev's accession to NATO and stop the expansion of the alliance. In addition, Moscow, according to him, insists on recognizing the realities that have developed "on earth", enshrined in the Constitution of the Russian Federation.
