A massive power outage occurred in 34 settlements of the Novgorod region due to bad weather. This was announced on August 2 by the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.

"The regional Prosecutor's office, on behalf of the regional prosecutor Sergei Shvetsov, organized an inspection of compliance with the requirements of the legislation on electricity supply. It was established that the day before, due to the deterioration of weather conditions, there was a massive power outage in 34 settlements of the region, in which more than 832 people live," the agency said in a statement on its website.

It is noted that a power outage was recorded in the territories of Demyansky, Novgorodsky, Okulovsky, Pestovsky and Soletsky districts. The regional Prosecutor's Office has organized supervisory support for actions aimed at eliminating the consequences of the natural disaster.

Earlier, on July 16, more than 2.4 thousand people were left without electricity in the Irkutsk region due to a thunderstorm. The emergency recovery teams of OGUE Oblkommunenergo and IESK, the road service of the Irkutsk region, were involved in the restoration work.
